INMERSIÓN LINGÜÍSTICA: LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE IN RURAL CONTEXTS: SIERRA DE GATA-2026

Teaching communicative competence in English in compulsory education should go beyond vocabulary and grammar. Reading aloud, text interpretation and intonation are key to developing real speaking skills for the classroom. In Extremadura, in line with Decree 107/2022 and LOMLOE, this training addresses three needs: improving teachers’ oral English through practice, providing tools for expressive and inclusive reading, and selecting accessible literary texts, especially for pupils with specific support needs. Priority will be given to illustrated texts with clear language, repetitive structures and scope for dramatisation. The training will be delivered entirely in English to ensure an authentic and meaningful learning experience.
